All lips are different--some plump, some thin, some with wide smiles, some without teeth behind them at all. It takes practice to be able to express so many aspects in a simple sketch, but if you repeat the process over and over with slight alterations every time, you'll figure out what you need to do to achieve your desired effect.
Draw lightly in pencil so that you can easily rub out mistakes.
Men have thinner lips than women. If the female is wearing gloss, this effect can be achieved by leaving some white spaces, make sure it looks natural.
